125 g butter
85g sugar
rind of 1 orange
5 ml vanilla essence
1 extra large egg
280g flour
30g cornflour
5 ml baking powder, rounded
pinch salt
Preheat oven to 180°C.
Cream the butter, sugar and orange rind together until creamy.
Add the vanilla essence and beaten egg. Mix well.
Add the flour, cornflour and baking powder.
Mix to a firm dough.
Roll the dough out on a lightly floured surface to a 3-4 mm thickness.
Cut out into desired biscuit cutter shapes.
Place onto a greased baking sheet.
Bake for 10-12 minutes until light brown.
Remove from oven and leave to cool.
