1/4 c sugar
75g (3oz) butter
2 tbsp golden syrup
1 egg
1 1/2 c flour
1 tsp ginger
1/2 tsp baking soda
Beat butter and sugar, add syrup, then egg. Mix in sifted dry ingreds. Knead.
Roll out to 5mm thick. Cut into shapes.
Place on tray.
Bake 190C 10-15mins.
Chocolate gingerbread men – obmit ginger, add 2 tbsp cocoa to dry ingreds.
