Custard

4 egg yolks
1 litre full cream milk
4 Tbsp cornflour
4 Tbsp sugar
2 tsp vanilla essence
50 g butter

Beat egg yolks, add in 200 ml of the milk, mix in cornflour with the sugar. Add vanilla. Heat the remaining milk, once hot add in the egg yolk mix. Stir over medium to high heat till thick and bubbling, add the butter. Serve.
