Hot puddings

Bread and butter pudding

8 slices of bread (remove crusts)
butter
jam
1 litre milk
4 eggs
1/4 cup sugar
1 tsp vanilla

Spread the bread first with butter, then with jam. Cut the bread into small pieces and place into a buttered pie dish.
Beat the eggs, milk, vanilla and sugar and pour over bread.
Cover dish with baking paper, bake at 180C for one hour approx, or until set.
Serve with a little cream or ice-cream.
